No, I haven’t fallen off the planet….

All right, I’ll admit it has been a long time since my last post.  I’ve been busy.  I know, your thinking: If you’ve been soooo busy, why hasn’t your word meter gone up at all?

And to that, I answer: I have been working on my book.  Just not revisions.

I have wheedled my 400page manuscript into 5 double spaced pages.  Yes, my friends, I have completed the synopsis for Andromeda’s Tear.  I have also outlined and plotted my next work-in-progress, for which you can see the word meter for that here too.

So no, I do not have any updates for my word meters.  However, I am almost ready to send out query letters to some agents.  Don’t worry.  Of course I will keep you all updated on my progress in that direction.

Now, enough about my hyper-busy life, I have some great news to share.  My friend, Lisa, has completed her first full length manuscript.  I like the story and the heroine is spunky.  Let’s give a round of applause for Lisa!  You go, girl!

Hmmm…Next item on the list is my total lameness in not replying to Sharon, who ever so sweetly tagged me.  I now find myself in the position of coming up with six, count them, six things about me that you might not know.  But wait!  Here’s the kicker.  I’m supposed to tag, like seven—yes 7—other bloggers.

Seeing as I only know two, ahem that would be 2…dos…1+1, bloggers personally--one of which is the gracious person who tagged me in the first place, and the other was tagged as well,  I will just have to content myself with answering the questions.

Here goes:

  1. I am a NAUI certified SCUBA Diver.

  2. I sing—not American Idol stuff—but I’ve been in a few musicals and have had several solos.

  3. I love to bake and to cook.  I do a lot of experimenting.  My husband calls me the fearless chef.  Luckily, I haven’t had any complaints yet.  <g>

  4. I prefer Action/Adventure or Sci-fi over most Chick Flicks any day.

  5. I was a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan.  Didn’t get into Angel too much, but I love Bones.  (And, not related, but I freakin’ love Grey’s Anatomy)

  6. Most Friday nights, you will find me parked in front of the TV from 8:00pm – 11:00pm, watching the Sci-fi channel, Friday line-up.  SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, & Battlestar Galactica.  (Don’t bother me on Friday nights)  <BG>

Well, that’s all for now.  I have writing and reviewing and revising and a whole lot of other shtuff to do.  Don’t worry, you’ll be hearing from me soon.

And the Winner Is...

The overwhelming response to my contest was just astounding.  I found it hard keeping all 4 legitimate entries in order.  I think I’ll have to ask for help next time.  With so many contestants, I chose the incredibly high-tech option of writing 1 – 4 on little pieces of paper and drawing one out of a cup—the hat seemed like over-kill, don’t you think?

So, drum-roll please…The winner of my first official contest is…

Contestant #2, Elisa!

This lucky contestant has won herself a copy of the first Romance I ever read, Gentle Warrior by Julie Garwood.  If she already has a copy or has already read it, she can choose the gift certificate instead.

Congratulations, Elisa, and happy reading.

A warm thank you goes out to all 4 contestants for entering.
