Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!

For the past two months, I have made a change in my life. That's right, folks. I, Sandra Barkevich, wife, mother, author, have finally taken charge of my life and started eating healthy. And, if that wasn't enough, I've also started getting up EVERY morning at 4:20am to exercise! Gah! So, here we are. Thanksgiving Day and I still got up at 4:20am to exercise. This was very, very hard for me, but, thanks to my supportive and loving husband's encouragement, I was able to roll out of bed and push through another 45 minute work-out.

Now, I'm off to bake a couple of pies to take with us to my aunt's house in NYC. You might ask how I will handle the whole healthy eating on a day like Thanksgiving. Well, I've promised myself that, no matter what I eat, I will NOT feel guilty. On the other hand, I also know that I do not need great heaping gobs of gravy and mashed potatoes and stuffing and... Well, you get the idea. :-)

So, how do you handle the holiday eating frenzy? And, what is that one food item that is sure to tempt you from your best laid plans? I think mine is my aunt's roast pork. Something that I fantasize about all year round. It just melts in your mouth and is sooooo....ok, now my stomach is grumbling. Tell me what you can't get enough of.

Happy Thanksgiving,
Sandy :-)

Announcing Necromantic Musings of the Triumviri

Okay, so I’ve been quiet lately. But, it’s not because I haven’t been busy. :-) I would like to announce the birth of a new Blog and team effort between two very good writer buddies and myself. We are currently co-authoring an author built anthology. So, hop on over to our group blog and check out the project! We are very excited about teaming up.

Of course, I am keeping this blog as well, so be sure to stay tuned for updates here too. On that note, no, I haven’t heard from Avon yet. Let me tell you, it is a huge test of my waiting ability. I am sure I’ve driven my poor husband completely batty already. I constantly call home during the day to check the answering machine…unfortunately, he is usually at home at the time and picks up the darn phone! LOL. He has now taken to answering, “No messages, Sandy.” I think I’m giving him a complex, so I now try to think of something nice to say to him if he answers. This way he feels the love and I get to find out if anyone from Avon called. *Sigh* I suppose no news is good news. In the mean time, I have my new joint project to keep me busy and the blogs. What an exciting time this is.

Sandy :-)
