We've Made It To Round 7!

Sharon Cullen and I have made it to round 7 of Karin Tabke's 1st Line contest. The competition is fierce and there are so many wonderful beginnings. I certainly have some favorites. Ok, a lot of favorites. Just for fun, here are the first 7 lines of my entry:

Elizabeth squeezed her eyes tight and turned her face away from the wicked-looking blade. She’d seen what it could do. Knew first hand the destruction it could bring.
The death.
“Please,” she whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek. “I...I can’t do this.”

What do you think? I'm keeping my fingers crossed. ;-)

I can't wait to see what direction the 7th line takes some of the other entries. I just love this contest!

Sandy :-)

*Don't forget to post a comment to SNOW DAY!!!!! for your chance to win an autographed copy of Hell's Belles by Jackie Kessler. Even if you might not read dark paranormal fantasy, it can make a nice gift to someone who does.

Thanks, Elisa! Mondays are so funny for me. I am a page refreshing, bloglines checking, fiend. ROFL. I live on pins and needles until Karin posts the next round entries. *bg*

What a beautiful site you have here! I just love that top banner. Yeah, it's off topic, but I had to say it somewhere.

Hey, its been a while since I've stopped by (tons of travel for work), but MAJOR congrats on making it this far!! That's so cool! How many more rounds are there?

Hey, I joined a battle of the blogs on BE, would you vote for me? :)

Cassie! You won your battle! I'm so glad. I didn't get to see your comment in time and so I missed out on voting for you. But, obviously, people know a good blog when they see one. Congratulations!

Thanks for the congrats on making round 7. It is THE coolest writing contest ever. *BG* Right now, we are down to 40 entries (started at 75) and each week, 5 entries are culled until only 5 contestants remain. Those 5 get 10 days to submit the first 10 pages of their manuscript for final round judging. There are some great stories shaping up already.
